PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ), part of the Java Regional Upstream Subholding, is holding an underwater oil and gas distribution pipeline in the ECHO Area. The main objective in deploying the distribution pipeline is to maintain the reliability and integrity of the pipeline in delivering oil production of 1890 BOPD.
SKK Migas Operations Facility Maintenance Senior Manager Aswandi explained, in upstream oil and gas, Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java has an important role in contributing to supporting national oil and gas production in a sustainable manner.
On the other hand, the integrity facility commitment carried out by Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java is an implementation in managing the upstream oil and gas business in an environmentally sound manner.
In the initial stage, starting from the offshore installation phase, the deployment of the 8” MOL EC-EPRO pipeline spanning 1.56 km.
A total of 183 personnel were involved in the process, taking up to 35 hours and a distance of 102 Nautical miles (Nm) using the Hafar Neptune Pipelay Barge (PLB) with a departure point from Cirebon Jetty on Wednesday (22/03/2023).
Occupational safety aspects are of course a priority in every project implementation. Before work begins, a Pre-Job Meeting is given to workers who will work at PLB Hafar Neptune and Management Walk Through (MWT) to check readiness for mobilization.
The EC-EPRO offshore mobilization milestone is not only for the benefit of PHE ONWJ, but this work also continues for PHE OSES,” explained Aswandi in a written statement, Thursday (6/4/2023).
“Activities in deploying pipelines are carried out on time, on budget, on scope and on return (OTOBOSOR),” said Ridho Wastu from Pertamina’s Production & Project Subholding Upstream function.
PHE ONWJ Projects Manager Mohammad Abdurrafiq said, all workers who will carry out this task always apply Pertamina’s 3 Golden Rules which consist of Compliance, Intervention and Care and give authorization to all workers, regardless of their position to be able to stop work if it is not safe.
The next step, this project will be continued with the deployment of the 16” MOL LPRO-NGLJ distribution pipe with a length of 27.9 km which is targeted to be completed in approximately 4 months.
Realization of Oil Production
Realization of PHE ONWJ oil production for the end of February 2023 was recorded at 26,752 Barrel Oil Per Day (BOPD), and natural gas production around 79.79 Million Standard Cubic Feet per Day (MMSCFD).
General Information PHE ONWJ is a Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) which is incorporated in Zone 5 Java Regional Subholding Upstream Pertamina, together with Zone 6 PHE OSES, and Zone 7 PT Pertamina EP.
